Men's unusual street fashion

There are certain things funny that men do that they are most of the time completely unaware of. I suppose each one of us have had experience laughing at a man we do not know because of a random funny action that he makes for no reason or for some accidental action.

Last week I've seen a bearded man wearing men's ties with a pair of high heel sandals and a baseball cap while riding on a kid's bicycle. He was on his way to the town and was showing off his own brand fashion. Of course, it would not be surprising that people would make fun of him, laugh at him and stare at him for ages. The modern culture is so engrained with linear perspective that anything outside of the line seems hilarious and unacceptable.

Going back, the man I saw was not just alone he was with six other guys who had some really weird fashion styles I should say. A couple of days later, they went back to town again. It was Saturday and there were lots of people in the town. Some of them were big bellied, semi bald guys who wore short Japanese school skirts combined with a pair of hiking shoes, long socks.

As expected, most people laughed, conservatives took it seriously, teens thought they were cool. Because they were getting so much attention from the public. The media came in and asked them a few questions, it turned out that they were having this social experiment. When asked how they felt when people laughed at them, most of them said they were enjoying the fun of startling people to death.

Women from Mars, Men from Venus?

Women are from Mars and men are from Venus in John Gray's book clearly states the differences in both sexes. However there are really empirical facts about the similarities between the two. To some people, it is just a sensationalization of differences between men and women.

Nonetheless, the book attempts to understand things and provide solutions for men and women relationships. When it comes to dressing and fashion, there really are no differences when you take a bisexual man with cross dressing tendencies. He can experiment with men's ties mixed with a short skirt and a crew cut hairstyle. None of those things really matter. The book itself is strictly relating to heterosexual relationships so to speak and many people get offended particularly the gay and lesbian community.

People do what they want to do. If there are slight differences between men and women, it is their personality and cultural influence. I am talking about non-physical differences. "Books like that of John Gray's are although attempting to dig in and supply possible solutions to relationships, is breeding a monoculture", one activist said. However, I like that fact that Gray responded to the bothering issues of his time and tried to help people overcome that issue by writing a book.

Understanding skinny ties

Speaking of men's ties and general fashion, the skinny tie is just a recent innovation. But they have been around as far as I can remember. For the younger generation, skinny tie is as hip as the Oscar and Grammy award winning superstars.

One great thing about skinny ties is they are unique in looks. Compared to the old and traditional necktie, skinny tie are more trendy. However wearing one would be quite challenging. Not only you will have a difference in look but self projection as well. This is mainly because every tie has a personality of their own. That is why it is very important to fit your personality with your tie. Any contrast will produce sublime effects on your social life.

For a moment, a skinny tie can be a little geeky, in another it can be a bit feminine. To reiterate, the most important thing to keep in mind when wearing one is the compatibility complex. Make fit of your tie. If you feel sad, wear a dark colored skinny tie, and vice versa. Further, skinny ties are straightforward in terms of fashion. Some people consider this as out of office fashion as one will look too trendy.

Nevertheless, skinny ties can be of any use as long as one knows how to carry it.

Origins of fashion

In it's origins, the word fashion means to cut or trim. Overtime, the word was associated with design, creating, and innovating clothing. Detaching from the mere need of comfort dressing in the body, fashion now it means the urgent desire to update oneself in the latest trends in clothing and lifestyle.

Historians believe that the first emergence of fashion was in the late fourteenth century. Tailors and designers then were making a lot of new styles of clothing to fir the body's contour in accordance to the newly created designs. The close association of traders in the middle east and some merchants in east and western Europe enabled the tailors of the fortress to gain more knowledge in cutting and tailoring styles.

During the 15th century, trends were said to be slow in pacing. But two centuries later, it accelerated and more sophisticated manufacturing techniques were used to produce the most valuable commodity of clothing. During that time, to look messy and outdated in clothing will give you an impression of being in heavy debt.

Costume books were then made archiving the trends and new innovations in clothing designs. The designs were coming from a variety cultural backgrounds from Spanish, Hungarian, German, Dutch, French and English to name a few. For centuries, tailors and designers were able to acquire more and more complex skills from different sources. And in the 1950's Charles Worth made it a multi-billion pound industry using human models for showcasing his ideas. His designs gained the special attention of the rich people making him one of the richest fashion designer/craftsman in the 19th century.

As we move further with the 21st century, and as things get more and more personalized, people are not totally depending on experts and professionals anymore with regards to how they want to look. The wonders of the internet supplied people with lots of practical information and easy to do personalized fashion such as making your own men's ties, printing shirts, and designing your own clothes in general. What the future holds for the fashion industry is yet to be witnessed.

Trial and Error Fashion

Like any other thing in life, when something does not work, try something else. This should be the mindset of every fashion afficionado. Sticking to one style or fashion trend is stagnation. It never enables you to grow and explore more ideas and new horizons in the fashion world. If you are this, it's probably time to look into something new and try it out.

Most old-fashioned men live with one or two hairstyles during their lifetime. It is not gonna be surprising if your classmate in high school will still recognize you if you meet him/her on the street. Having the same hairstyle for years never allows you to explore the exciting possibilities of fashion. If you are this, you should immediately get a men's fashion magazine and see the vast styles of hair that will probably fit you.

Ties and Shoes. If you have been wearing the same old men's tie and shoes for months, and weirdly pairing a combination of clothes that does not fit, it's time to experiment. Pull out all your clothes in the closet, get a magazine, imitate one style, and customize it according to what you see is best.

Personal styles would always require trial and error. There can never be success if there's no error and some of the most successful fashion designers failed for a terrible number of times before getting the hang of everything.

Dress to Impress

Small things say a lot. Men's ties are probably the smallest piece of clothing a man wears but to be fair, it says a lot about you. Dressing's purpose in life aside from comfort and style is basically to impress. There could be no other reason for this. When a man wears ties that have famous brands such as gucci and armani, a man feels good about himself. It fairly adds up to his self esteem and stature.

In getting a job, men tries to look at his best by impressing the prospect employer of his dress. The suit he is wearing will be one of the determining factor if he's going to make it or not. So men in such cases always tries to look good as much as they can. To give another perspective, during first dates, when a man tries to impress a woman, he does it in ahead of time by choosing the best suit he can have for the date. The first impression that he's gonna have is enormously affected by the way he dresses.

Nonetheless, dressing is always about impressing. It's got everything to do with boosting up self esteem, glamor, prestige, fashion and saying out to the world that I look good.

The other uses of Silk Ties

Clothes are by nature multipurpose. They are not just one piece of clothing designed for a fashion statement and self expression, they can also be of practical use in everyday lives. Regarding silk men's ties, the texture is classy and luxurious.

if in the event of not having a jacket and feeling cold, for a moment you can let go of the fashionable neckwear to help ease the discomfort. Cover your neck with the tie. This for sure will help you fight cold. Another practical use of silk ties is, you can make it as a weapon in times of violence. In the filipino martial arts, anything can be used as a weapon, and so it is not the weapon which you must fear but the person who wields it. You can put wrap it with a keys to make it effective in violent confrontations.

So much of that, also, one good use is to try to make it as a rope in times of emergency. The best way to go about it is to make it wet as wet clothes won't easily break....

Early 19th Century Men's Fashion

The fashion of the last days of 18th century passed on many traits to early 19th century men's fashion. As what's normal, the sacque suit was the casual day dress of men. In formal events, men wore tail coat paired with a top hat and a black patent-leather shoes. Knickers, which was called knickboxers before were also common in those days.

After world war 1, particularly in the mid 1920's, baggy pants entered the fashion scene. Many students were wearing baggy pants with an Oxford bags. A few moments later, it was then introduced to the American market which also brought a seemingly not huge impact at the time. After a few years, baggy pants were on its peak, spanning for more than twenty years, it has been one of the coolest and most fashionable clothes in men's fashion(including men's ties)  in the early 19th century.

Most of the fashion trends that were at the American market in the early 1900's came from Europe. Clothing styles were traced by historians and figured out that most of the clothes in the era were coming from Old Scotland and other several parts of eastern Europe.
